Insulated Wall Block
Lightweight block that insulates the wall as it goes up; white and standard, 95–295 mm.
A lightweight masonry unit that combines insulation and wall block in one piece. Once the wall is built it is already insulated, which takes away the trouble of applying external insulation in very hot or very cold weather. Wall details get slimmer, usable floor area grows, and contractors work faster for less. Being light, it makes the building more resistant to earthquakes. It cuts easily, so there is little waste and the whole wall is built from the same material. It is vapour-permeable, so the wall breathes. In shafts and party walls it provides fire and thermal insulation. In kitchens and bathrooms, water pipes are easy to chase in without losing thermal and acoustic insulation, and cupboards and built-in appliances are simple to mount. Plaster grips it well, so plastering is quicker and uses less material. No expansion takes place during production, so it shrinks very little and the surface does not crack. With specially coated stone-wool panels for lintels, columns and beams, plus corner and solid blocks, the entire wall goes up without waste.
